Apple’s mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, has been met with strong demand in the first days of pre-sale. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has sold over 160,000 units of Vision Pro in the United States since the pre-sale began on January 15.

The high demand is likely due to a number of factors, including the headset’s powerful hardware, its immersive AR and VR capabilities, and Apple’s strong brand reputation.

M2 Chip

Vision Pro is powered by Apple’s M2 chip, which is the successor to the M1 chip found in the latest MacBook Pro and iMac models. The headset also features two 4K OLED displays, a 1080p front-facing camera, and a LiDAR scanner for accurate tracking.

While the initial demand is strong, analysts expect it to slow down after the first reviews of the headset are published. Some analysts believe that Vision Pro could sell up to 500,000 units by the end of 2024, but others believe that the number could be lower.

If Vision Pro can maintain its momentum, it could help Apple become a major player in the AR and VR market.
