Tesla is not letting up on promoting its electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck. The company has released a new video on YouTube showcasing the Cybertruck's off-road capabilities. How did the truck fare on the trail?

Cybertruck at Home on the Trail

Off-roader? That’s exactly how the Californian automaker is now trying to promote its electric pickup truck. Tesla is now continuing its campaign on the YouTube platform with a new video in which the Cybertruck sets out to prove its capabilities. The perfect place for this was Hell’s Gate, near the city of Moab, Utah.

The video evokes feelings of adventure and the Cybertruck manages the entire climb without any problems. At the end of the video and the exit, the Cybertruck meets two other Tesla trucks that had reached the top before it. With this act, Tesla has definitively shown that the Cybertruck is a truly capable off-road vehicle. But it’s not the first electric car to do so. In 2021, rival Rivian R1T also recorded a successful ascent.

What About the Engineers?

The video was commented on by Wes Morrill himself. Tesla’s lead engineer behind the electric pickup truck. On social media, he said that the video features the Cybertruck in its three-motor Cyberbeast version. Two Cybertrucks, which were already waiting at the top, but had to tackle the climb even with their two motors.

Morrill also told us some interesting news. According to him, Tesla has recently been working on improving the Cybertruck’s off-road handling, and has now tested it in this way. All truck owners will get it in one of the first updates.

It will be interesting to see how the Cybertruck fares against other electric trucks in the coming years.
