McLaren hyperebike
McLaren, the renowned company best known for its supercars and Formula One racing cars, is venturing into two-wheeled vehicles with a line of high-performance electric bicycles.

Under the name McLaren Bikes, the British company launches two top-of-the-line models: the Extreme 600 and the Sport 600, which promise to be the most powerful and technologically advanced e-bikes available.

Hyperbikes, Not Just E-Bikes

McLaren classifies its products as “hyperbikes,” a nod to its high-end automobiles, rather than traditional e-bikes.

These models, which are inspired by their supercars’ design and technology, feature:

  • Lightweight and durable carbon fiber frames: Handcrafted for maximum strength and minimal weight.
  • Cutting-edge electric motors produce up to 852 W in maximum power, providing an unrivaled riding experience.
  • Four levels of electric assistance, including a special “Race” mode for maximum power and performance.
  • Integrated Handlebars with Color Displays: Displays performance measures and telemetry, similar to McLaren automobiles.
  • Integrated front LED lights provide enhanced visibility in low-light settings.
  • High-End Components: From well-known companies like SRAM and RockShox.

Extreme 600 versus Sport 600

Extreme 600: A dual-suspension mountain bike featuring a 29″ front wheel and a 27.5″ rear wheel, designed for rough terrain and challenging descents.

Sport 600: A hardtail mountain bike designed for speed and performance on smooth, rolling terrain.

250 Versions

For bikers looking for a more affordable choice, McLaren will provide “250” versions of both models with lower-powered electric motors and more traditional components.

Pricing and availability

The range also includes two less powerful bikes, with costs ranging from $11,950 for the Extreme 600 to $7,950 for the ‘entry’ level Sport 250.

Availability will likewise be limited, with handcrafted production done to order.

McLaren Bikes is a watershed moment in the electric bicycle market, merging McLaren’s automotive expertise with the ingenuity and daring spirit of riding.

These “hyperbikes” will undoubtedly be treasured by high-end aficionados seeking the pinnacle of performance, technology, and design.
