It's true, Sony is currently testing the possibility of cloud gaming for PS5, and the Japanese manufacturer has announced this innovation directly on its blog. These tests include games and trial versions of games from the PlayStation Plus catalog, and the feature will be available to subscribers of the PlayStation Plus Premium service.
New cloud gaming on PS5
PS5 already supports game streaming through the Remote Play service, but this streaming will be different. Remote Play requires the player to download the game and act as a host for remote play, which will no longer be necessary for the currently tested cloud gaming.
Play without the need to download the game
Cloud gaming allows players to dive into new games without having to download them to their console first. It appears that this new feature will be exclusively part of the Premium subscription, and it won’t be available in the lower subscription levels (Essential and Extra).
In addition to games from the PlayStation Plus catalog and Game Trials, cloud gaming will also be available for supported digital titles that players already own and have in their library. The exact availability of this service is unfortunately uncertain, but Sony will inform its users about it.
