A story like from a modern fairy tale unfolds. Two years ago, Carl Pei stepped down from his position as the director of the OnePlus brand, took a brief hiatus, only to return in full glory with his own brand, Nothing. And it must be noted that his venture has been successful thus far.

Carl Pei is conquering the world

Everyone in the industry knew he would remain in the realm of smartphones. However, the first commercial endeavor from Nothing took the form of stylish Ear (1) headphones. They captivated audiences with their original, partially transparent “tech” design, which was later followed by the brand’s first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1), and other headphones under the Ear (stick) label.

Recently, the company launched an extensive campaign on Twitter, sparking a wave of questions once again. The initial promotional material was highly ambiguous, leaving many wondering what Carl Pei had up his sleeve this time. Fans immediately began speculating, and surprisingly, their speculations were correct—a new smartphone is indeed on the horizon.

Nothing Phone (2) is coming soon.

In terms of design, we should not expect miracles. Following the first generation’s example, we will once again witness an impressive transparent LED Glyph Light appearance. And how will it be on the inside? We have clarity on that front as well. The driving force will be the high-octane Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, combined with 8GB or even 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of fast internal storage.

The battery capacity will ultimately be 4,700mAh, rather than the initially announced 5,000mAh. Nevertheless, this is still an improvement compared to its predecessor from last year. The number of rear cameras will also increase. In addition to the proven duo of primary and secondary sensors (50 + 50MP), a telephoto lens with at least 2× optical zoom will be added.

The dimensions are expected to remain more or less the same. This is evidenced by the presence of a fast 120Hz AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a diagonal size of 6.55 inches. And now for the main announcement. Initially, it was rumored that the phone would be introduced only in the USA, but in the end, the Nothing Phone (2) will also make its way to Europe. The premiere is scheduled for July this summer.
