The Sims 4 to be free starting October 18th

The Sims 4 will be free to play on all platforms from 18 October. The news came as a complete surprise to fans, as the game has always been known for costing a lot of money.

It is important to explain that only the base game will become free to play and all expansion packs will continue to be paid for.

Those who already own the virtual reality game will be entitled to a bonus: they will receive the “Desert Paradise Kit” filled with furniture and items, according to producer Maxis Interactive and distributor Electronic Arts (EA).

To redeem the gift, users must be logged into the title with the same EA account and have all updates installed. The kit will be available from 18 October.

Expecting more? Then note that the franchise is also offering an update that includes the expansion pack “The Sims 4: At Work”, as long as users have access to the title through EA Play.

Don’t worry, are you an EA Play Pro subscriber? You’ve got one more perk: you’ll get the “Baby Item Collection” item pack.

The date also marks the Behind The Sims Summit event, which should feature many more new features.

The Sims 4 is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as PC and Mac.
