Estate wagons or combi cars have always enjoyed significant popularity across Europe, despite the recent surge in large SUVs and crossovers. Volkswagen, a major player in the automotive industry, is gearing up to launch its jewel - the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer. But will it capture your interest?

Electric Tourer with a Range of 700 km

The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer, an electric estate wagon, is derived from the existing ID.7 sedan. However, the ‘combi’ version is elongated with slightly inferior aerodynamics (0.24 Cd vs 0.23) but promises to be a spacious and highly efficient electric vehicle with an extended range.

Expected to cover approximately 700 kilometers according to WLTP standards, similar to its sedan counterpart, the Tourer might offer a choice of a 91 kWh battery (86 kWh usable), ensuring a commendable driving range. The luggage space differs significantly, with the trunk having a capacity of 545 liters, expandable to 1,714 liters when the rear seats are folded down.

A Glimpse of the Camouflaged Vehicle

The much-anticipated electric estate car from Volkswagen is designed to comfortably accommodate five passengers with ample space. In the recently released official images featuring a camouflaged vehicle, the design is somewhat veiled, leaving much to speculation, although it’s expected to remain closely aligned with the sedan’s aesthetics.

The specific unveiling date remains unknown, but the reveal is anticipated to occur within the coming months. Following the unveiling, the next year is marked for the official launch of the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer into the market, potentially reaching the Euro market. The expected price tag is speculated to exceed the 65.000 USD threshold.

The sleek, elongated design coupled with a substantial driving range, poised to offer ample space, makes the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer an exciting addition to the electric vehicle segment. Its impending arrival is anticipated to stir significant interest among automotive enthusiasts and environmentally conscious drivers alike. With an innovative and efficient model like the ID.7 Tourer, Volkswagen aims to carve a niche in the competitive electric vehicle market.

The teaser images, with the vehicle under camouflage, hint at a design that aligns with Volkswagen’s futuristic aesthetics. As it enters the market, it is expected to compete directly with other established electric estate cars, offering a blend of luxury, efficiency, and an impressive driving range. As Volkswagen steps into the electric estate wagon category, the ID.7 Tourer is poised to turn heads and generate curiosity among potential buyers
